Atlanta Southern Crescent: Where Tacos Meet Self-Defense!

What happens when you combine a great taco bar, practical self-defense skills and a room full of Rotarians? For the Rotary Club of Atlanta Southern Crescent, the answer was an evening filled with laughter, learning and plenty of fellowship.

Club members gathered at B’Mari Events & Art Studio in Jonesboro for a Tacos and Self Defense social designed to give members a chance to step outside of the usual meeting setting and simply enjoy being together.

The evening started around the taco bar, where members filled their plates with tacos, rice, fresh toppings, salsa and guacamole. It was a chance to relax, catch up and enjoy conversation around the table before the evening’s activity began.

Once everyone had eaten, it was time for self-defense. Members took part in a hands-on session focused on practical techniques and building confidence. Everyone jumped right in, practicing the moves, encouraging one another and having plenty of fun in the process.

For Atlanta Southern Crescent Rotary, the evening was also a reminder that fellowship is an important part of building a strong club. Service brings Rotarians together around a common purpose, but friendships are often strengthened during the conversations, laughter and shared experiences that happen outside of regular meetings and service projects.

The social gave members an opportunity to relax, get to know one another better and spend time together without a formal agenda. From gathering around the taco bar to practicing self-defense moves together, there was no shortage of smiles or personality.

The Rotary Club of Atlanta Southern Crescent continues to look for creative ways to bring members together through service, fellowship and connection.

Sometimes strengthening a Rotary club starts with something as simple as sharing a good meal, trying something new and enjoying time together.

For Atlanta Southern Crescent, tacos followed by self-defense turned out to be a pretty great combination.
