Past Program
District Governor Mary Ligon - Offering Direction for 2022

The new Rotary District 6900 Governor, Mary Ligon, spoke to our club this past Monday, August 23rd. Mrs. Ligon discussed her vision for the coming Rotary year.

Part of her vision involves bringing people together to create change. She emphasized, “Together, we see a world where people unite to create lasting change in the world, their communities and themselves.” In keeping with this vision, she discussed strategic priorities to increase the impact of Rotary and build on the Polio legacy. Mary also spoke about expanding our reach by engaging others to serve with us. She also talked about increasing our ability to adapt.

“Together, we see a world where people unite to create lasting change in the world, their communities and themselves.”

Continuing with the theme, serve to change lives, she highlighted membership as our number one internal priority. Again, she noted “We must increase our impact and expand our reach. Focusing on creating value for membership and to reach out to engage others. Some of her other goals for this coming year are to: End Polio, challenge all clubs in the district to be 100% sustaining, empower girls by challenging us to get our local schools and youth servicing organizations to sign up for YPA (Youth & Peace in Action), the largest local peace project in Rotary history.

The Rotary Club of Sandy Springs appreciates and salutes our District Governor Mary Ligon for her dedication and service to not just our club but to all those she represents in district 6900.
