AWER Past President Paige McKay-Kubik celebrates Seed & Feed Marching Abominable
upcoming 50th anniversary

AWER Past President Paige McKay Kubik celebrated
Seed & Feed Marching Abominable
upcoming 50th anniversary with the rest of us at our Friday, September 1
meeting. Seed & Feed was founded in 1974 by Kelly Morris as part
of Kelly’s Seed & Feed Theater in Atlanta, GA to bring serendipitous
fun to the community. For almost 50 years Seed & Feed performers
have delighted audiences all over Georgia as well as those in
surrounding States.
In 1975, Seed & Feed held its first performance
as a post-performance surprise for theatre goers and its first
appearance at Inman Park Festival, which now serves as the band’s
“Homecoming” event".
Fast
forward and The Seed and Feed Marching Abominable marching band can be
seen in the video performing Big Noise from Winnetka at the 2018 Inman
Park Festival! One major feat they overcame was rehearing during the
pandemic. Not only did they overcome it, they pivoted and found a way
to perform outside hospital as a way to say thank you to those heroes
inside.
There
has been too many rehearsals and performances between 1974 and today to
list here. Check out their Facebook and YouTube pages for much more!
